Paria Canyon

Rebecca and I set out on a mission a while back to find some real petroglyphs - ancient Native American symbols carved into rock. So, we planned a day hike into Paria Canyon near Lee's Ferry in northern Arizona. We did find a few petroglyphs, some desecrated by modern day graphiti which was disappointing. Although, one could argue that petroglyphs are ancient graphiti, it does ruin the historical aspect and legacy of the ancient peoples. This image was taken en route to one of the petroglyphs and demonstrates the type of environment these ancients may have lived in. --Keith
