The dark background and sky of Crimson Charge
really add to the dramatic effect of the light. The
color of lightning really depends on a number of
factors. It becomes affected by the type of film
used, dust or rain in the atmosphere, surrounding
city lights, and moonlight. The dynamic nature of
all of these elements and the chaotic yet
continuous randomness of the light paths really
keeps lightning photography exciting. I guess
that's why we stay up to the wee hours of the night
