The nature of the beast with lightning photography
is such that you truly never know what you are
going to capture. We've seen a few other lightning
photographers demonstrate some wild boasting about
their images and you get a sense that they do not
really respect nature. Fortunately, most landscape
photographers "get it" and know they are nothing
without what nature provides. The fact is, for
every amazing image you see, there are literally
hundreds of images with nothing on them... wasted
film. So when Rebecca does get an image worthy of a
gallery, we feel tremendously thankful. This image
was a wonderful surprise. The composed foreground
simply aligned with a strike better than we could
ask for. This image has been featured on the cover
of the June/July 2002 issue of the
