This really unique image was taken at the world's
tallest fountain in Fountain Hills, Arizona on July
4th, 2001 after a spectacular fireworks show. We
stayed after the show and shot the lightning storm
coming in from the east over the park. The fountain
runs every hour on the hour for about 15 minutes
from 9am to 9pm and is lit by powerful flood lights
on the edge of the lake and from the fountain's
large base. In this image, the falling water makes
the fountain appear like a blue flame. Sometimes it
all comes together in ways you couldn't even
imagine. The fountain was running, was lit, the
storm in the distance gave us its own lightshow
reflected in the lake, and Rebecca captured it with
her medium format camera while my father and I sat
by the lake watching the storm. Cool! --
