This 4x5 image was taken inside McDowell Mountain
Park, just northeast of Scottsdale, Arizona. The
storm came up from the south almost directly (an
unusual direction for the monsoons in the immediate
area). This image really captures several
sky-to-sky strikes and one making contact with the
ground. This storm was in October, really late in
the monsoon season, and was extremely active and
was a total surprise as we thought the season was
