This image was taken in the summer of 2000 north of
Fountain Hills, Arizona on a RB-67 medium format camera. The crisp
purple comes from the reaction of the film to the extreme light of the
lightning and the tan sky comes from a long exposure on the night sky
filled with dust particles swept up from the desert floor by the strong
monsoon winds.
