This image was taken at the pullout along 17 mile
drive north of Big Sur in California. This area is
known as 'Ghost Tree Lookout'. There are several
excellent trees along this pullout and I was
exploring to find a great shot when
my mother called me over to an area about 100 yards
from where I was. She had found this interesting
tree that perfectly framed a rock that was being
pummeled by waves. I liked the framing and set up
my RB67 medium format camera to shoot the waves.
Catching waves on the crash takes good timing and
patience as well as a lot of wasted film. I thank
my mom for this image and say, once again, 'mom's
know best'! -- Rebecca |
