The week we spent in St. Croix is one I will never
forget. The trip there was a gigantic hassle
because of cancelled and delayed flights courtesy
of Hurricane Erica. We spent 7 hours in the San
Juan airport before taking a puddle-jumper to St.
Croix (which Keith didn't mind, but I prefer big
planes!). We rented a car while we were there and
they drive on the left side of the road in St.
Croix, so I had to ride along with my eyes closed
or else yell at Keith to get on the right side of
the road. When we finally reached our hotel,
tranquility was exactly what I needed. As the week
wore on, I was getting used to driving on the left
and started thinking I could live fairly peacefully
on St. Croix for the rest of my life.
Unfortunately, reality set in and this image was
taken on the 4 x 5 Wista on our last night in St.
Croix. We will be back, but in the mean time, this
image has to hold me over and bring me back to that
tranquil beach in St. Croix. -- Rebecca |
